ACTIVITIES
Jeep Tours
Ask our front desk staff about spectacular Red Rock Jeep Tours. Visit ancient
cliff dwellings, sacred grounds, enchanting vortices and adventurous trails.
Golf
Hiking
Self guided tours on a variety of trails in the Sedona area are available. The
front desk staff has maps and directions for hikers of all ages and energy levels.
For your safety, please stay on marked trails. A map of the Coconino National
Forest can be found here
Fishing
Our fishing season is all year long! Oak Creek is stocked with Rainbow and German Brown Trout from late Spring to early Fall. There are also private trout ponds nearby.
Therapeutic Massage

Scenic Air Rides

Ski
During the winter months (December to March) our front desk staff can advise
you of ski conditions before leaving for your Northern Arizona vacation. The
ski slopes are located near Flagstaff, about a 45 minute drive from Orchards
Inn.
Swimming
Natural swimming holes along Oak Creek: Grasshopper Point, Slide Rock, Red Rock
Crossing - let our front desk staff tell you where. Of course you can just step
out onto our Pool Deck with swimming pool and hot tub, and enjoy panoramas of
the Red Rocks while sipping a cool drink.
Picnics
Enjoy the outdoors. Let our Orchards Grill staff prepare sandwiches, wine &
cheese, or gourmet baskets for you to take along. Then plan an outing to Encinosa
or Halfway picnic areas in pristine Oak Creek Canyon, or the base of Cathedral
Rock at Crescent Moon Ranch Park.
Horseback Riding
Experience the old west with a one hour ride including a horse drawn wagon ride to a cowboy cookout at sunset. Half-day to multi-day backcountry
horseback adventures are also available.
Tennis
Available at the Sedona Racquet Club or The Ridge. Our front desk staff will
schedule times.
Shopping
Sedona is a shopper's paradise. Just step out of The Orchards Inn and you are
on Main Street. Visit our many quality shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants,
many in quaint southwestern settings. Factory outlet stores are located in the
Village of Oak Creek, about 15 minutes drive from the hotel.
Theaters
Experience Sedona on the Giant Screen SuperMax Theater. Offering films in giant screen including "Sedona - Spirit of Wonder"
Scenic Drives
Schnebly Hill Road
Reached from Highway 179 near Tlaquepaque. Turn left on this unpaved road, which affords breathtaking views looking west over Oak Creek Canyon &
Red Rock country. Recommended for photographers!
Red Rock Loop Road
One of Sedona's most photographed areas, this scenic drive leads to the triple-turreted Cathedral Rock, Crescent Moon Ranch at Red Rock Crossing,
and Red Rock State Park. The park is a center for environmental studies and is home to over 200 bird species.
Dry Creek Road
About 5 miles of paved road, followed by miles of unpaved scenic roads leading
to picturesque Boynton Canyon, Long Canyon, Loy Canyon and many more. Along
the canyons you will find numerous places for hikes, photography and scenic
vistas of Native American sacred grounds.
Airport Road
Enjoy superb views of Sedona from the top of the mesa, home of the Sedona Airport, and the Mesa Airport Vortex. An excellent spot to photograph
sunsets and after storm rainbows.

Art Galleries
You will find a multitude of galleries, many featuring nationally acclaimed
western and contemporary artists. Ask the front desk staff about special exhibits.
They are featured all year long.
Chapel of The Holy Cross
Contemporary shrine designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude and built in 1955
among Red Rock spires. Chapel Road off highway 179. Open daily, 9:00 am - 5:00

Indian Ruins
Built by the Sinaqua Indians during the 13th century, Montezuma's Castle, Montezuma's Well and Tuzigoot are each a short driving distance from
Orchards Inn. Museums contain an impressive collection of artifacts.
Jerome
Jerome is a 45 minute drive from Sedona. A turn of the century mining town,
Jerome offers interesting galleries, antique shops, pubs, restaurants, a State
museum and stunning views of the Verde Valley.
Grand Canyon
For early risers, a south rim day trip is possible. Allow 2 hours of driving
each way. Ask the front desk staff for maps and travel information
San Francisco Peaks
Drive North on Highway 89A or South on Highway 179 to Interstate 17; then through Flagstaff and under the railroad overpass. Turn left on
Humphreys Street and follow this road to the Fairfield Snow Bowl entrance, on the right about 15 miles from Flagstaff. Drive to 9,500 feet on
paved roads through Ponderosa forests. Hike to Humphrey's Peak, at 12,500 feet, the highest point in the state, about 5 hours round trip from
the trail head. Or, take the chair lift to 10,000 feet for unforgettable Arizona views. Bring an Orchards picnic and enjoy the cool high country!
